Welsh actor Catherine Zeta Jones, who has been made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, has described her investiture as "very personal".
The 41-year-old film and theatre star received the CBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace for services to the film industry and to charity.
She was accompanied by her husband, American actor Michael Douglas, who is recovering from throat cancer, and their children Dylan and Carys.
